THE DAILY PROPHET
VOLUME NO. 1
ISSUE NO. 4
MINISTER’S KIDS ARE DETAINED
BOTH KIDS TO GO TO TRIAL AFTER ACT OF SELF DEFENSE GOES WRONG
It seems Hogwarts can’t go a single term without a tragedy occurring inside its walls. Once again, the Devane-James family finds itself under scrutiny, but this time from unexpected quarters. The sixteen year old twins of the Headmistress and Minister of Magic are currently pending trial following the death of another student in, what we heard, were violent circumstances. Nikolas Eldridge has been identified as the victim of a defense spell gone wrong and was officially pronounced dead at the scene by Ministry Aurors.
Despite their father’s position in the Ministry, and his historically infamous reputation, Vincent James and Viktor Devane were forcibly removed from Hogwarts. Neither have been allowed to return to the school pending a full inquest into the death of Nikolas Eldridge that could see both boys put on trial for murder. They claim it was accidental, while some others say the apple never falls far from the tree, and the boys are following in the very questionable footprints of their father.
It seems as if neither the Minister of Magic nor the Headmistress truly understand the severity of the situation, and while we can ascertain that it might be difficult for two parents to go through such an ordeal, we have not heard a single word spoken out against the accusations nor to the parents of the deceased who are currently in mourning. After everything that’s happened over the last few years, people are once again starting to question Devane as a Headmistress and the safety of students at Hogwarts.
